Writings

The real writer is one
who really writes. Talent
is an invention like phlogiston
after the fact of fire.
Work is its own cure.  You have to
like it better than being loved.
- Marge Piercy, Poet

I’ve always been split right and left brain. Would there be a dominant side, I’d have a much simpler life no doubt. I put the most into my technical writing because that is part of a core professional skill I can develop. Unfortunately no one will pay be to write haiku (nor am I claiming that position is unjustified).

The first section on this page is a tribute to some of my favourite authors and poets while the second will link to my personal works once I repost them in the new site format.

Others’ Writings

Here, in no particular order, are first some of my favourite authors/works/books and then any more detail below.

Fav Books

Also Sprach Zarathrustra (Nietzsche), The Sword of Truth series (Terry Goodkin), American Gods (and Gaiman in general), Gor, Singing and Then, Mything Link series (Robert Lynn Asiprin et al.), The Stranger (Camus in general), Beowulf (Seamus Heaney’s is a wonderful translation), Conan (Howard’s and the comics), Edgar Allen Poe (anything), The Little Prince (Antoine de St. Exupéry), Twilight (because of sentimental reasons only), Heart of Darkness (Joseph Conrad), Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit (J.R.R. Tolkien), Metamorphosis (Kafka), Shakespeare, Dune (Herbert),  Numerous (especially DiscWorld) by Terry Pratchett (still haven’t read the Gaiman-Pratchett books), Shannara Series (Terry Brooks), Robert Jordan’s Conan Series (still haven’t read the WOT series)

Books I’ve really enjoyed and retain in my library

Various short stories of Kafka, Wanderings & My Name is Asher Lev (Chaim Potok), … and many more to come.

Personal Writings

I don’t profess to be a great writer of prose or poetry so will take any criticism for the betterment of what skill I have. It is better to write poorly than to never write at all.
