Favorite Brews and Spirits

Feel free to consider any of my recommendations on this page as sound personal advice if you’re looking for something new to try. Of course, if you’re looking to send me a gift, I’d appreciate the thought alone.

Beers, Ales, …

Beer and its relatives are divine gifts – and can even be a primary source of nutrients.

Dead Guy Ale: A wonderfully delicious, rich German Maibock from Rogue Ales. This ale is rich and hearty with a pleasant maltiness and a deep natural honey color.

Spirits…

I usually drink anything hard, neat or maybe on ice. Though I’ve fallen for Scotch after my trips to the UK, I still maintain an affinity for certain other spirits even if only something I partake in years between.

Scotch

Laphroaig 18 Year Old: I sipped my first Laphroaigs at Heathrow and fell in love – and brought home three bottles of different vintages immediately.  The 18 has a special place in my heart because I received it the first time as a gift from my wife’s mother and her husband.

Aberfeldy 21 Year old: This is a truly wonderful, smooth whiskey.

The Glenlivet 12 Year Old: Always keep a bottle and a good speyside single-malt whiskey.

Vodka

Thor’s Hammer Vodka: Simply my favorite vodka that I never sully with any additives. If you are a vodka drinker, you MUST try this if you can find it – and then please send me some as I’ve not been able to find it in years.
